Before God, we all share a common denominator of sin. We also share in its consequences of separation from a holy and righteous God. This is where the gospel, the Good News comes into play. Christ came on a mission to make things right between God and His people.
“Therefore, having been justified (made right) by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith in to this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God…But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us” (Romans 5:1-2,8).
The Gospel message is this: That Jesus Christ died on a cross that we may become reconciled with God.
It is both a God-given declaration as well as a God-given invitation that He sovereignly guides. To be drawn to Jesus Christ is to know without a doubt that God is drawing you to Himself (John 6:44).
This is the Good News- the Gospel message we celebrate on Christmas and every day of the year.
Have you personally called upon the name of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”
